The
Homestead The Homestead has a traditional and homely feel, but please don't come expecting the Hilton. It's spacious and clean with all the mod cons you need but it was built 60 odd years ago and has the appropriate 'character' associated with that. There's also a great outdoor area with campfire and hot coal BBQ. If you want to use the hot pot/camp oven during your visit (which I strongly recommend) bring a variety of vegetables such as potato, pumpkin, onion, carrots etc. You just don't know how good veggies can taste until you've tried the hot pot. |
The
Cottage Nestled not too far from the original Homestead, is The Cottage. Originally used as a workers cottage but now well equipped to sleep a small group or family. The Cottage offers 3 bedrooms - 1 double and 2 single beds, a spacious lounge area and well-equipped kitchen. |

FOOD Arcadia Valley Escape is a long way from the nearest grocery store so it's important to stock up before you arrive. The nearest food stores are in Injune or Rolleston around 90km away so this is something you don't want to forget. For a bit more variety Roma or Springsure might be a better bet to pick up your supplies. Both houses are equipped to store refrigerated goods and the cottage has a large chest freezer for frozen goods. |
